The RADEP
curriculum is for drivers typically charged with non-alcohol related reckless and or aggressive driving offenses. RADEP
is a unique two day, in-person 12 hour driver education and training seminar consisting of two parts. The first session ( part 1) is a traditional 8-hour Virginia DMV driver improvement class. The second session (part 2) is a 4-hour National Safety Council course which focuses on reckless driving, aggressive driving, road rage and anger management. You must complete (part 1) the eight (8) hour Driver Improvement Course before your can attend (part 2), the 4 hour segment of the course. Please ensure that you bring your certificate of completion for (part 1) to verify completion.
Important Notice:
To successfully complete the Virginia 12-hour RADEP course with our institution, please review and follow these requirements carefully.
1. Full Course Completion:
Students are free to attend the 12-hour Virginia RADEP course at any accredited institution. However, if you choose to complete the course with our institution, you must finish both parts of the full 12-hour RADEP course exclusively at our school. We do not accept certificates from other institutions under any circumstances. If a student has completed part of the course elsewhere, they will need to retake both parts at our institution to meet our completion requirements.
2. In-Person or Virtual Classroom Attendance:
The entire 12-hour RADEP course must be completed either in-person at our institution or via live virtual sessions. These sessions are conducted in real-time, with active participation and attendance monitored throughout. Online-only formats, such as pre-recorded or self-paced modules, are not approved and will not fulfill course requirements. Students must attend the full duration of each session for both parts. Missing any portion of the course will result in an incomplete status, requiring students to reschedule and complete any missed sessions to meet course requirements.
3. Sequential Course Structure:
The RADEP course is divided into two parts, which must be completed in sequence. Part 1 must be completed before Part 2. While students are encouraged to register for both parts in advance, they will not be allowed to attend Part 2 until Part 1 is successfully completed. If a student fails to complete Part 1, their registration and attendance for Part 2 will be postponed until they meet this requirement. Similarly, if any scheduled session is missed, the student will need to reschedule and complete the missed session before moving forward. Failure to complete any part will delay the overall completion of the course.
